The House Has a Body
14 October – 14 November 2026 · Gallery 44, London. The House Has a Body brings together Marisa Müsing, Hayfa Algwaiz and Monya Riachi, considering how domestic spaces hold emotion, memory and traces of lived experience.
Cry, Baby (2026) is a collection of domestic objects that makes room for crying within the ordinary rituals of sitting, changing and looking at oneself. Steel teardrops gather along a chair and coat rack, while blue silk from the curtains of Müsing’s childhood bedroom brings a piece of that room into the objects.
A handheld mirror, inspired by ancient Etruscan mirrors, places raised tears alongside the viewer’s reflection. The series includes Cry, Baby Chair, Cry, Baby Candle Sticks, Cry, Baby Coat Rack and Cry, Baby Mirror, each made in steel. Photography: Ari Murad. © Gallery 44. Exhibition text: Shirin Fathi.
